The Outreach Committee

So what does Outreach do you ask?  Our main goal is to assist those battling hunger and injustice.  We are always looking for new members to join the committee or to help with our activities.  Here is an overview of what we do.

We meet on the second Sunday of each month after church service.  Through researching various charities, we make careful decisions on how to use the gifts donated by our Congregation.   During the year we provide meals and serve at the Lowell Transitional Living center, visit and worship with the Outdoor church in Cambridge bringing them supplies of socks and homemade sandwiches, organize the Alternative Christmas market as well as other special projects.  These projects could include spring raking for those in our Congregation and helping out with a donation for the Sr. Class trip or Lenten Sunday school project.  Once a month during worship service, we deliver an Outreach moment to keep the Congregation informed of our activities and spending, and explain why their donations to Outreach are so valuable.  We also provide written articles or updates for the Lantern.

Many of us have a passion for helping those in need and we welcome new people to the Outreach committee at any time.  Bring your ideas and help to make a difference.  Please contact Carol Young or Bob Miner if you are interested in joining this committee.
